On 16/03/2014, 11101/11102 Gwalior Pune Express leisurely accelerates from Boisar railway station of Western Railway in Maharashtra behind BRC WAG-5P# 23069. WAG-5 locomotives are used for hauling freights and mail/express/passenger trains. WAG-5P is now Fit for hauling only mail/express loads. This is a weekly train and in just 2 weeks of its inauguration, electric locomotive has been alloted. In inaugural run, it got JHS WDM-3D, and on two consecutive Sundays, it got RTM WDM-3D and JHS WDG-3A. Effective 16/03/2014, it gets electric locomotive for the first time. I know we used to love seeing diesels a lot but its a good move giving electric locomotive since it will save a lot of diesel for 532kms one way. From Gwalior to Vadodara, it runs on diesel link and from Vadodara to Pune, it runs on electric link. Camera: SONY HDR PJ50E
