Barely a few days back, with Railway Minister & BJP Government announcing hike in Mumbai at least 300% from 25/06/2014, almost whole Mumbai City was shocked and in past 24hrs, there were massive queues all over stations in Mumbai since people of Mumbai started purchasing Season Tickets (First Class as well as Second Class) for quarterly, Six Monthly and even Yearly. For eg, if a monthly Second Class ticket cost INR480 from Churchgate to Andheri, from 25/06/2014, he has to pay INR1310 which is more than 300%. I had purchased quarterly pass 10 days back only, so I didnt have to bear the torture of standing in long queues. Since there is one queue for buying Season tickets and Card tickets at all stations, people waiting for card tickets had to stand for hours. At least more than 75,000 people in 24hrs started buying Season tickets. 1) Today evening at Dadar railway station, look at the queues on 8 operating windows. There were 20-30 people in one line. If one person gets Season ticket in 5mins, the 20th person will get in 100mins i.e 1hr 40mins. 2) Absolutely shocking sight at Vidyavihar station with massive queues for many metres. Late evening, everyone gets good news, that there will be no hike in second class ticket fares upto 80kms, it will be costly in First Class. Camera: SONY HDR PJ50E
